How To Choose An In-Home Dog Sitter In Frederick

How To Choose An In-Home Dog Sitter In Frederick

Leaving your dog at home over the holidays? It’s important that your pet is safe and happy at home while you are away. Use these guidelines to find a Frederick pet sitter who will love your dog like their very own!

1. Do your research! Do they have reviews from other dog sitting clients?

Ask your potential pet sitter for references, or look at their website and social media pages for reviews from clients. Getting good reviews ahead of time will help you make a reliable decision.

2. How often will they visit your home? The answer should be at least once per day.

Make sure you know what time they will visit. It’s important that your sitter adjusts to your pet’s schedule and routine. Your pet may require more than one visit per day. Here at Woofin’ it, we require 3 visits a day for puppers, and once a day for the kitties!! We want to make sure those critters have lots of company while you’re gone! Choose a sitter based on your pet’s needs, regimen, and schedule.

3. Will they send real-time text and picture updates?

It’s important to know how much fun your pet is having while you are gone. Photos and videos also help you stay connected to your furry best friend while you are away.
Set the expectation to receive pictures and updates from your sitter.

4. What services are included with their visits? At a minimum, dogs need their water and food refreshed every day.

Determine what other services the potential sitter provides. Medication administration? Picking up after your pet? Grooming? Playing in the yard? Mail retrieval? Plant watering?

Some pet sitters offer these and other services in addition to their companionship. Consider what’s important to you and also determine if these services are included in your base fee or come with an additional cost.
